Communion
It's been such a long time
Since I've visited this place.
Solace
I belong here
Quiet and unassuming space.
Surrounded
I partake of you
And revel in your embrace.
This is our communion
Sacred and pure
The moment I sit down to play
The world disappears
And all I feel is the music.
I sing
But it isn't my voice
A string of notes connecting us like DNA.
Worship
When I'm wholly connected
Everything else falls away.
Our Communion
You and I together.
We're in tune, you and me,
Nobody on the outside understands
We're composing a symphony.
Words don't matter
Just notes and keys and vibrations.
Emotions and trauma
Muscle memory
My whole being
Melts away.
My communion with you
Is such a relief.
They'll never know the weight
That intimacy released.
The minute I sit down to play and sing
It used to be a beautiful thing.
Because in a room full of people
I was alone with you at the piano.
