Could Be Worse
I don't care if you're better than what you were.
I had no idea at some point in life I 'd be using that excuse to describe my partner.
I had no idea that "not as bad" was an acceptable description.
Or "could be worse".
Is that really how a wife should describe her husband?
Is it really acceptable to say things like
"He's much better than he was"
"He doesn't break things anymore"
"He's not as abusive"
I guess we should just all be grateful that you're only mean, cold, and lazy now.
And somehow just because you don't leave that makes you a good husband and father. But I guess that's what counts as good these days, knowing you could be worse.
