Seed

Seed

All I need
tiny little seed.
I can dream of everything you'll be.
A sheltering heart,
inside a beating start.

And one day I'll climb your arms
and from the top
I'll see how far you've come.
And in those arms I'll find
I finally have a home.

Every knot
every bend,
every cut you've had to mend.

Overgrowth, like a broken bone
stronger in resistance
all of your persistence to survive.
When threatening storms struck
you stood, my one sure guide.

Tiny life
joy and strife.
Bundled in this small helpless seed.
So much give,
and so much need.

Every knot
every bend,
every loved and lost friend.

Everything you'll ever be
wrapped inside this tiny shell,
all of heaven
all of hell.
It's all inside of me.
